This e-learning course is intended to create an understanding of how the administration of dermal fillers can lead to a vascular occlusion and ways to minimise the risk of this occurring and the identification and management strategy if it were to occur.
To help the learner identify and manage a vascular occlusion appropriately.
By the end of the course the student should be able to:
Define what a vascular occlusion is
Explain how a vascular occlusion is caused when using dermal fillers and the relative risk
Explain the implications of a vascular occlusion if untreated
Recognise a vascular occlusion
Explain the immediate management of vascular occlusion including the preparation of Hyaluronidase and administration
Discuss the various ways to reduce the risk of a vascular occlusion
